Unternehmen Kreta

Alternative title
Operation Crete
Synopsis
A campaign film on the invasion of Crete. Because the loss of life was so heavy on this occasion Hitler never again used airborne troops for a major invasion. This newsreel gives a completely different impression. Quickly edited scenes of troops dropping from the sky, occupying towns and rounding up prisoners suggests a smooth operation and an easy victory. Africa is seen as the next objective for the supposedly invincible German forces.
