Bit of an Extra, A: The Uses of Film in University Teaching

Synopsis
Produced at the Universities of Exeter, Reading and Southampton as part of a research project to investigate and promote the place of a film in university teaching, the format of the film rests largely on the comments of various lecturers across the academic board, from medieval arts to electronics. Illustrates ways in which film can be used as a medium for demonstration or as a means of showing the inaccessible in time and place. Aims to show how film can be used as an active medium of communication by raising questions both verbally and visually.
