According to the Evidence 1
- Synopsis
- This film was made for the Faculty of Law at Monash University as an introduction to the law of evidence. Its aim is to explore the possibilities of film as an aid to teaching law. Based on the fact that it is not possible to determine in advance precisely when any evidentiary point is to be argued in any particular trial, actors were employed to perform in a contrived trial in which many evidentiary problems are presented. An apparently ‘open-and-shut’ case of brutal assault is complicated by a change of evidence by the victim. The jury’s decision is not recorded since the aim of the film is to convey problems of principles inherent in any trial.
