Synopsis

Describes the production of Lissajous figures by a combination of two simple harmonic motions at right angles and shows them being produced electronically via a cathode ray oscilloscope as well as graphically. Examines the way in which the shape of the Lissajous figure depends on the frequency ratio and phase relationship of the two simple harmonic motions.
