- Synopsis
- Two-year-old Ben Crosland was born ‘twice’ - at only 24 weeks he was partially removed from his mother to undergo experimental surgery, and then returned to the womb and his life was saved. The programme looks at the pioneering research in fetal surgery which can also transplant cells from one human foetus to another. Some believe that organ and limb transplants before birth might be possible. Raises the many ethical and moral issues which go hand-in-hand with techniques which have the potential to alter our biological destiny. Contains footage of miniature hand being lifted from uterus.
