Birth of a Drug, The

Synopsis: What are the decisions that have to be made during the research and development stages of drug manufacture. How do pharmaceutical researchers start when manufacturing drugs? Why do they choose to work on one molecule and not others? The drug is an anti-hypertensive agent developed by the pharmaceutical company, Pfizer. It is a second-generation compound that replaces an older drug designed for the same purpose.
