Turn-Around in Donetsk
- Synopsis
- In Eastern Ukraine, t
Shows that investment in cleaner technologies can bring economic and environmental benefits to a highly polluted industrial town, if local people can be convinced that a wrecked environment is not always the inevitable price for development. Focuses on the heavily industrialised Donbass region and the city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine, where polluting factories have undermined people’s health. Yet with unemployment and inflation high, Donbass residents are opposed to closing down their old factories. - Language
