- Official British war film. Covers period from 8th November 1942 to May 1943 - the invasion of North Africa to the fall of Tunis. In 1942 the Allies launched the largest amphibious assault of the war thus far - the invasion of north-west Africa, codenamed Operation Torch. The objective was to swiftly cut Rommel’s supply lines across the Mediterranean and trap him between the freshly landed forces and the 8th Army advancing from the East. With music by William Alwyn.
Around 70 minutes of DVD extras include two additional films, including the original British cut of the AFRICA FREED and a feature on Axis minefields. - Series
