Synopsis

Shows how some geometric transformations such as translation and rotation can be reduced to a series of algebraic caluculations using 2 x 2 matrices. Begins by considering a problem of finding the area of a triangle given the co-ordinates of the vertices, then considers whether the shape of the triangle is accuragtely retained under the matrix transformation.
