Trachoma

Synopsis
Tutorials in trachoma designed as an interactive educational resource in tropical health. The disk contains a selection of interactive tutorials, an image collection and a glossary. The tutorials emphasise the importance of early diagnosis and treatment to prevent progression of trachoma to blindness. They provide practical guidelines for examination, diagosis, treatment, prevention and control in a community, and describe surgery to correct trichiasis in areas where facilities may be limited. The image collection comprises around 150 images illustrating detailed surgical techniques and different stages in progression of trachoma. Topics include aetiology, clinical signs and grading, epidemiology and prevention, laboratory diagnosis, treatment. The glossary defines all medical and scientific terms used in the tutorials.
