To Remember Chico Mendes

Synopsis
Chico Mendes, president of the Rural Workers’ Trade Union of Xapuri in the western Amazon and member of the National Council of Rubber Tappers, was widely known for his work in defence of the environment. The video tells the story of his life and how, as he began to campaign more vigorously in defence or rubber tappers’ rights, he became target of death threats.
