To Hear or Not to Hear
- Synopsis
- A fictional portrayal of the sort of situation which can arise in a family where one member is hard of hearing. The situation is shown from the point of view of the normally hearing members of the family and of the deaf person with the objective of showing those with normal hearing what it is like to be deaf. Illustrates what life could be like for people who don’t look after their own hearing and discusses the limitations of lipreading and hearing aids and the conditions required for these forms of communication to be useful.
