Tick ‘Ixodes Ricinus’ And Lyme Disease, The

Synopsis
Using time-lapse micro and macro techniques, the film describes Lyme disease and shows the infection, removal of ticks, a documentation of patients with symptoms at different stages of the disease, and the life cycle of the three host ticks. This cycle includes the hatching of the ticks, the larvae, shedding, nymphs, male and female adults, copulation, and the depositing of eggs. It also shows the importance of mice as hosts for sub-adult ticks, and deer for adult ticks.
