Synopsis
Shows how ciliates reproduce, carry out their physiologicl processes, capture prey and exploit their ecological resources. Observes common bacteria feeders ('Paramecium’, ‘Vorticella’, Colpidium’), scavengers ('Coleps’), predators ('Didinium’), the giant cells such as ‘Stentor’, ‘Bursaria’, ‘Spirostomum’, and ciliates that form symbiotic partnerships with algae.
