This Earth: The Inheritance

Synopsis
A brief review of the earth’s history and formation and the elements of which it is composed. Describes how conditions on the surface of the planet eventually generated the living cell resulting in plant and animal life and, finally, mankind. The earth’s crust is the sole source of everything we grow, eat, mine, make and use. It is pointed out that today’s science-based society has barely drawn on the riches of this inheritance while, at the same time, it is using up non-renewable resources eg. metals, minerals and fossil fuels. Argues that we must plan to use available resources more effectively and in new ways.
