Theatr Laboratorium
- Synopsis
- A documentary about the work and ideas of a small Polish experimental theatre. The film shows the actors at work in the theatre, practising their voice, physical and rhythm exercises, whilst the commentary explains the purpose of the actors’ work and introduces a sequence in which the director of the theatre, Jerzy Grotowski, explains his credo of the theatre. The result of the students’ efforts is shown through a section of the production of Marlowe’s ‘Dr. Faustus’ and the film ends with a discussion of the value of this theatre’s work.
