Synopsis
In two parts: 1: Steptoe and Edwards in their clinic for ‘in vitro’ fertilisation. The doctors put their points of view and face criticism relating to the fate of unused embryos. 2: Set at the Norfolk Test Tube Baby Clinic in the USA, considers the points made by Steptoe and Edwards. The issue of deep-freeze technique is explored in Australia where the work is advanced. Professor Edwards considers the ethical aspects of his work and discusses developments such as cloning.
