Tchirozerine-Tuareg
- Synopsis
- Looks at the trials and hardships being faced by desert nomads in Niger and their efforts to deal with agricultural problems after years of drought. The first section of the film looks at a hard hit nomad group. The second refers to the ‘Tchirozerine’ of the title which is an Oxfam-supported relief and development scheme where former nomads are encouraged to develop appropriate technological solutions to some of the difficulties of making a livelihood in this hard marginal agro-pastoral environment.
