A panel chaired by Ruth Mackenzie, with Katie Mitchell, Michael Bogdanov, Deborah Warner, Rose Fenton, and Michael Morris, discuss whether there are national aesthetics in theatre; whether each European country has its own distinct style of theatre; whether the emergence of a European identity has diluted or distilled national aesthetics; and the nature of the ingredients that combine to create a national style.
