Task Analysis

Synopsis
Introduces the technique and philosophy for the teaching of mentally handicapped adults developed by Marc Gold. Dr Gold shows the importance of the trainer knowing the task he is to teach and being able to break it down into teachable components. Using different formats, he works with pre-school children learning to build with blocks, to use screwdrivers and to recognise coin values. Dr Gold discusses criterion, data collection and the seven-phase sequence for doing complete task analysis*.
