Synopsis

Looks at targets in action in three Birmingham primary schools. Demonstrates the key principles of: starting from where children are at; bringing into the process; settingmeasurable steps and benchmarks; celebrating achievement; setting challenging but realistic goals. Shows how each school applied target-setting to achieve dramatic improvements in literacy and numeracy, and how target-setting assisted individual children in striving for excellence.
