Bio-Bombshell, The

Synopsis
Following a brief history of biotechnology, explores the various new techniques being developed and describes their present and projected applications. The process of cell manipulation is described in detail with the help of animation and results of experiments at the Animal Research Station, Cambridge, which has produced a chimera (half sheep, half goat) are shown. Research being carried out by both industrial and academic institutions is discussed. Finally projects the effect that biotechnology might have on the Third World.
