Synopsis: Given that cities share in common crises that endanger the sustainability of our habitat, looks at the lives of ordinary families and describes the deteriorating urban environment in four cities: Chenni, India; Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; Katowice, Poland; and Shenyang, Chine. Shows how the local authorities in these cities are working sith the Sustainable Cities Programme of UNCHS (Habitat) and UNEP to improve the living environment and to make the cities sustainable.
