Synopsis
An instructional video on
Looks at resiliency-oriented prevention and intervention with teenagers at risk. (Resiliency is the ability of young people to survive troubled families and destructive environments and grow up to become productive and responsible adults.) Discusses why it is easier to claim victim status than to take personal responsibility in a society which is too ready to apply a clinical label. Interviews young people who have encountered various adversities and demonstrates how professionals can assist them in recognising their own inner strengths and in rising above challenging circumstances.
