Subcellular Fractionation and Centrifugation: A Strategic Approach

Synopsis

Software with data on ten subcellular particles from rat liver, tissue culture cells and spinach leaf: nuclei, mitochondria, chloroplasts, plasma membrane vesicles, lysosomes, peroxisomes, Golgi membranes, smooth and rough endoplasmic reticulum and ribosomes. It also contains data on soluble protein and whole cells. The software models the behaviour of each type of particle under a range of centrifugation conditions. It is the user’s task to harness this modelling capacity to achieve separations of the greatest purity within the least time. Results can be stored on disk.
