Synopsis
A television adaptation by Peter Sasdy of Nigel Kneale’s classic ghost story, first broadcast in 1972 as ‘a ghost story for Christmas’ and repeated just once, in 1973. A team of scientists, eager to discover a new recording medium, takes over a renovated gothic mansion. However, one room remains unfinished and the builders refuse to work there. The DVD also contains scripts of ‘The stone tape’ and ‘The road’ (1963) and features Nigel Kneale in conversation with Kim Newman.
