Synopsis
Presents a scientific analysis of paraphilia. Shows how sexual arousal develops and operates and how, in a small number of cases, it can become compulsive, fixated and extreme. Notes the young age from which sexuality begins by showing ultrasound scans of erection in a foetus. Using scientific techniques to measure sexual response, the demonstrates the process by which arousal develops; and with access to forensic photographs of autoerotic asphyxia, examines the causes and complexity of such behaviour. It focuses on three detailed studies of people suffering from paraphilias.
