Between the Lines

Synopsis
In the Portuguese colony of Mozambique in 1971 the war for independence was in its eighth year. The guerrilla forces of the Mozambique Liberation Front, Frelimo, held about a fifth of the country which formed a base for their struggle against the Portuguese regular army. Sequences of library film and newsreel set the context of the struggle but the film is concerned mainly with the day-to-day life of the guerrillas and the villagers among whom they live.
