Square Mesh Windows in Prawn (Nephrops) Trawls

Synopsis
Prawn (nephrops) trawls sometimes catch quantities of juvenile whitefish such as haddock and whiting. Square mesh windows fitted to the top side of prawn cod-ends or extensions allow the juvenile whitefish to escape without prawns. Underwater film of the windows demonstrates how they work. Shows how to fit them to prawn trawl cod-ends.
