Square Mesh Windows in Prawn (Nephrops) Trawls
- Synopsis
- Prawn (nephrops) trawls sometimes catch quantities of juvenile whitefish such as haddock and whiting. Square mesh windows fitted to the top side of prawn cod-ends or extensions allow the juvenile whitefish to escape without prawns. Underwater film of the windows demonstrates how they work. Shows how to fit them to prawn trawl cod-ends.
