Speer in London
- Synopsis
- In February 1999 actor Klaus Maria Brandauer arrived in London for his English-speaking stage debut in Esther Vilar’s ‘Speer’. Directing and playing the title role at the Almeida Theatre, he and his co-star Sven Eric Bechtolf have 12 days to prepare. Martin Wagner, who also translated the play, had access to the rehearsals and his film provides a unique insight into Brandauer as an actor (52 min). Also on the tape is SUMMER (11 min), written and directed by Martin Wagner, about a brief affair between a married man and his secretary.
