Synopsis

Aimed at introducing and developing
Introduces and develops knowledge of the theory of special relativity. Explains, using animated illustrations, inertial reference frames; principle and theory of special relativity; speed of light; measurement of time; space-time co-ordinates; Lorentz transformation; measurement of length; Fitzgerald contraction; simultaneity; time dilation; velocity transformations; relativistic mass; energy; momentum. To be used to complement or replace existing teaching. Approximately seven hours of teaching material.
