Synopsis

The currently used shuttle spacesuit will be unsuitable for human beings who may colonise Mars in the future because it is bulky and heavy. The programme looks at the latest experiments to solve the problem - from suits of armour consisting of a single layer of thin metal to tight-fitting elastic jumpsuits.
