South Africa: The Wasted Land

Synopsis
Examines the ways South Africa’s policies of apartheid have damaged the environment. While the land held by white farmers is rich and highly productive, the blacks have had to eke out a living on land degraded by soil erosion and deforestation, or struggle for survival as migrant farm workers, picking the crops their own families can seldom afford to buy.
