Solar Household, The

Synopsis
Designed to boost confidence in the use of solar energy for providing domestic hot water. Shows an experiment to prove how easily the sun heats water, and how the heat can be trapped. Shows swimming pool installation, two local government housing schemes where solar collectors have been installed and an exhibition where the solar trade demonstrates the systems it has to offer. Ends with a closer look at one manufacturer’s research programme in which new, cheap construction methods and materials are being tested for reliability.
