Synopsis
Fassbinder’s television serialisation of Alfred Döblin’s novel ‘Berlin Alexanderplatz’, made in 13 parts plus epilogue. It tells the story of Franz Biberkopf who, on his release from prison, is confronted with the poverty, unemployment, crime and burgeoning Nazism of 1920s Germany.

The DVD is the result of a restoration project overseen by the original editor.
