Softening the Hardware
- Synopsis
- A training video for hospital staff who have to deal with patients while at the same time using a computer to access patient-related information. Shows how things can go wrong in the out-patients department when the receptionist either pays too much attention to the computer, with the patient going beserk, or pays too much attention to the patient, and the computer goes beserk. Suggests strategies for letting patients share the information on the screen and using computers to enhance rather than obstruct patient care.
