Skin and Coal
- Synopsis
- Tells the story of black miners and their families in Doncaster, Leeds and Nottingham. Black miners have now established themselves within most jobs in the industry although, until relatively recently, some pits used the 1947 Foreign Labour Ruling (barring migrant workers) to block the progress of the black workforce. There is no voice-over commentary; the miners speak for themselves. Made by Social Film and Video, a black film company.
