Synopsis: Dennis Potter’s television mini-series that combines fantasy and reality with hit songs from the 1940s. Stars Michael Gambon as an unsuccessful thriller writer who is hospitalised with a terrible skin disease and escapes from his misery into one of his own pulp thrillers, into which his childhood memories keep intruding.
