Simulations of Pharmacological Experiments on the Guinea Pig Ileum

Synopsis
Package of pharmacological experiments to teach basic receptor theory, including occupancy and how response size is related to occupancy. Introduces dose-response curves through simulated experiments on the action of drugs on isolated guinea pig ileum. Dose-response curves found using a range of drugs and drug combinations are used to discuss full and partial agonists, types of antagonism, and to show the presence of different receptors through the use of agonists/antagonists. For use in self-paced open learning, or as part of a lecture course. Approcimately 8 hours of teaching material.
