Simulation and Games
- Synopsis
- The origins of simulation and gaming as classroom techniques are traced, their rationale presented and an analysis made of the different modes and types. Several examples are outlined and one (CIRCUITRON - an electric circuit game) is portrayed in detail in the filmstrip and through a taped interview with a teacher and his pupils playing the game in a secondary school. There are sections on using, designing and evaluating simulations and games. The module concludes by giving sources of further information and examining the relationship between simulation/gaming and educational technology.
