Should I Be Telling You This? Some Thoughts on Confidentiality
- Synopsis
- Introduction to confidentiality both in terms of the Data Protection Act (1984) an in the broader sense that any information about patients and staff is confidential. A dramatisation is set in a courtroom where a wide cross-section of hospital staff accused of various ‘crimes’ are tried, and amusing vignettes culminate in a no-nonsense summing up by the judges who stresses the painful the consequences of flouting the rules of confidentiality.
