Sentenced to Success

Synopsis
Made for the CFDT Union of Atomic Energy Workers in a nuclear reprocessing plant in La Hague, France. Examines the realities of day-to-day life in the shadow of the potentially lethal irradiation and contamination of both humans and environment. Reveals the conspiracy of silence by the authorities, from the deliberate lie ‘They told us they would build a factory for electronic devices’, to gradual infiltration of private interest superseding those of the state bringing fresh risks for the workers and population. Experts explain the many dangers and the film concludes that if projected developments are allowed to happen evacuation of the town’s community will be unavoidable.
