Behaviour Therapy and Phobic Anxiety States

Synopsis
Starts with a brief account, for those who are not psychiatrists, of phobic disorders and of the existing body of knowledge about the desensitisation form of behaviour therapy. Research is then described concerning flooding, a newer form of behaviour therapy. The findings indicate that a third technique of treatment is more effective than either flooding or desensitisation and suggest further lines of enquiry.
