- Synopsis
- A video-based teaching package that aims to challenge the stereotype that science is solely a western activity carried out by scientists, who are usuallly white and male, in laboratories. Uses the experience of Indian women scientists to allow students to questions their assumptions about science. Presents scientist-environmentalist Vandana Shiva’s views on agriculture and the environment; discusses the value of traditional Indian Ayervedic medicine; shows how modern technology can be combined with traditional knowledge.
