Synopsis
Territorial behaviour of males - male excavating depression. Male building nest - courtship - reaction to models. Female spawning - male ‘prodding’ - reaction to female model in nest - early and late eggs - reaction of male to intruders - care of young stickles. Predation by pike. Made with the co-operation of Professor Niko Tinbergen’s Unit of Animal Behaviour, Department of Zoology, University of Oxford.
