Schistosomiasis

Synopsis
An estimated 200 million people and countless domestic animals in the tropics and sub-tropics suffer from schistosomiasis (bilharzia), and perhaps 400 million others are at risk. The video uses cinemicrography and graphics to show the life cycle of ‘Schistosoma mansoni’ one of five principal species of schistosome, noting those features which help explain the failure to produce an effective vaccine against human schistosomiasis.
