Synopsis
The Sassetti Chapel in the church of Santa Trinita, Florence, is one of the few complete family chapels remaining from the 15th century with its frescoes and altarpiece painted by Domenico Ghirlandaio and tomb sculpture based on antique sarcophagy and reliefs. Explains the layers of meaning contained in the decorative images and their significance to the patron, Francesco Sassetti, General Manager of the Medici Bank, and his family.
