Synopsis: Investigates aspects of the geology of an island arc volcano, filmed on location on an around the islands of Santorini. Surveys all the accessible surface geology, describes and explains the geology of the pumice deposits of the Minoan eruption (ca 3400 years ago) on Santorini and shows a laboratory model of the magma differentiation process within the Santorini (and other island arc) magma chambers.
