Synopsis
Looks at the combined cycle gas turbine power station at Rye House near Hoddeston in Hertfordshire. Shows how natural gas burned in the turbine is used to generate electricity, and how the hot exhaust gases are harnessed to produce steam in a heat recovery boiler to drive a steam turbine generator, thereby increasing the overall efficiwency of the cycle.
