Synopsis
Discusses the visits made to the Alps by Wordsworth in 1790 and by Byron and Shelley in 1816 and their different responses to the grandeur of the scenery. Looks in detail at three works: Book VI of Wordsworth’s ‘Prelude’, Byron’s ‘Prisoner of Chillon’ and Shelley’s ‘Mont Blanc’.
